Coming into recruitment I had no idea what to expect. I had only ever been told that sorority life was a lot and I questioned if I even wanted to participate in the weeks leading up to bid-day. Now looking back I can’t imagine picking another option.
I was urged to participate in fall recruitment by many other upper-level students recommending greek life to me. I went ahead with applying for recruitment and had a great time getting to know other girls in my rho gamma group. To this day I still hold a great friendship with my rho gam, which is only the start of the fantastic relationships you gain through joining a sorority!
Once I met with a few sororities ZTA instantly stood out to me as I found so many things in common with each girl I talked to. One of the first things I was told was that I would find my way home and from then on I knew ZTA was the way home. Each round got more progressive and exciting as I met so many other girls just like me. Finally when ZTA was one of my last two options I knew no other house could compare.
Bid day was like no other event I had ever been to. It was so fun to see everyone meeting each other and being introduced to my new zisters! I even met my to-be big with such a warm welcome. A day filled with so much laughter, memories, and cheer. Bid day will forever be one of my favorite ZTA memories!
If you're having second thoughts about recruitment, don’t. Looking back I wouldn’t change a thing about my first year of college, especially not rushing. ZTA brought me people that I can’t imagine life without and memories that will last a lifetime! So what are you waiting for? Rush ZTA!
